India’s Space, Biotech Offer BRICS Opportunities

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh said India’s rapidly expanding space and biotechnology sectors present significant opportunities for deeper collaboration among BRICS and BRICS Plus countries through innovation, startups and emerging technologies.

The remarks came during a meeting with a delegation of the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BRICS CCI), led by its Chairman Sameep Shastri, which discussed ways to strengthen industry-led global engagement through research partnerships, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence and technology-driven cooperation.

The Minister said India’s emergence as a global innovation hub and its leadership in sectors such as space, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, nuclear energy and deep technology provide an ideal platform for building stronger international partnerships that contribute to both national growth and global development.
