[Call for Submissions] The 40th Khwarizmi International Award in Science and Technology

Founded in 1987, the Khwarizmi International Award (KIA) aims to recognize and honor the outstanding achievements of researchers, innovators, and inventors worldwide for their significant contributions to science, technology and innovation.

The Award is organized by Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology (IROST) and supported by numerous international organizations, including WAITRO, WIPO, UNESCO, APCTT, IORA, COMSATS and COMSTECH. The 40th KIA ceremony is scheduled to take place in February 2027 and will honor this edition’s laureates during a high-profile ceremony attended by the President of the I.R. Iran, senior government officials, and distinguished scientists.

The call for submissions to the 40th KIA is open
The deadline for submissions is August 07, 2026.

Eligible Countries
The nationals from all BRICS+ countries are welcome to participate.

Who Should Participate
KIA Organizing Committee welcomes contributions from distinguished senior experts as well as emerging young scientists, researchers, inventors, and innovators, and technologists (no age limits). They encourage contributions from all levels to foster a rich exchange of ideas. The Committee is looking for submissions of original innovative research and technologies that can make significant contributions to the advancement of science and technology and innovation.

Participation Fee
Participation is free of charge for all eligible individuals.
