Indonesia and Brazil Deepen Cooperation in Research and Higher Education

Indonesia and Brazil are strengthening cooperation in research, academic exchanges, and university partnerships, with officials highlighting opportunities in science, technology, biodiversity, energy, and health innovation.

“We see many opportunities, particularly in science and technology human resources. We want universities to collaborate more broadly,”
— Brian Yuliarto, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of Indonesia, said.
He noted that Indonesian universities are expanding their global networks, including with Brazil, which has strong research and innovation capabilities.

Brazil’s Deputy Ambassador to Indonesia, Rodrigo Carvalho, reaffirmed his country’s commitment to deepening higher education cooperation.

“We aim to increase Brazilian universities’ involvement in research and academic exchanges with Indonesia,”

Officials from both countries also discussed joint programs that leverage their respective strengths, emphasizing the potential for concrete collaboration between universities and research institutions.
